So Much Fun!

Hi Everyone,

I had SO MUCH FUN running today! Thanks so much to Lisa, Katie and Keitha for running with me and encouraging, and for everyone else for continuing to blog even when you couldn't make the race today.

I'm super excited for the next race... (but maybe not until the springtime!)

If anyone is interested in a 5k, there's an indoor race during the Montreal "all-nighter" through the underground city... any takers?

Cheers,

Sarah

Way to go!

Well, way to go ladies! Great job today!! I think we all deserve a real high-five. Despite the early hour, the impending rain (and the mass chaos at registration!!), we rallied and ran our 10k!!

I had a great run; and it was certainly attributed to running with you. Overall a really great experience. Thank you!

So... who's in for the Santa Shuffle next month!! ;)

Good luck!

I hope you all have a great run tomorrow! I am going to go along the canal and I will think of you as I suffer through 4km!

YAHOO!!

Ok, I'm signed up and running. Seeing as I don't live downtown (Insert tragic suburban sigh), I'll meet you girls there. Aiming to be there at about 8:30 to pick up the stuff I need.

Glad to hear everyone has fallen off the training bandwagon. It means I won't be the only confused messed up body running the race.

See ya Saturday!!

Sadness

I am sad to not be running this Saturday. Due to various factors, my participation will not be possible. I wish you all the best with your runs! My training should resume soon...I am hoping to do a half-marathon in the Spring (I say that every year, but I mean it this time!)

Yay!! Activity on the blog!!

Yay! Glad to see so many participants!

I'm still in for running on Saturday! Super glad to see I'll be running with Katie, Sarah and Keitha! Yay!

Sarah, great job on the 10k!! Typically, we train gradually to run 10k, but your method seemed to work just as well!

My training has been so sporadic lately. The odd mountain run, a few runs home and a sprinkle of neighborhood runs, that sums up my training. But like you girls, I'm just going to go for it - try my best, hope for good weather and have some fun!

I have a car and can drive. I still haven't registered, but can register on-site. It's $30 payable by cash or cheque. The 10k run starts at 9am!

Anyone Driving?

Hmmm... I don't have car either and it looks like this thing starts at 7 a.m.
Is anyone driving there? If not, Keitha, are you renting a car? I just know that my motivation will flag if I have to rent a car and drive out by myself at 6-something-a.m.!

Registration Deadline: Midnight Tonight!

Hi Everyone,

Just a reminder that if you're planning to run (or walk -- there's a 5k and a 10k walking option even if you're not up for running), the deadline for registration is midnight tonight.

Cheers,

Sarah

Phew!

I got a bit scared when I saw Katie's post... I registered for this race a few weeks ago, paid the fee and everything... and then life got in the way and I've not really run since... But I'm not going to let that stop me. Only thing that would stop me is no one to run with. So it was nice to see Sarah's post that she's into it. Phew!

I haven't been running, my expectations are on the low side, but I'm in good shape regardless and eager to see what I can put together, time-wise. I've been walking briskly to/from work since going back two weeks ago, and it's 9K round trip, so I've at least been exercising... Fingers crossed that it's not too cold on Saturday, as I have a feeling this is the only thing that would negatively impact my running ability.

As for getting there/back and planning a celebratory event of some kind, I'm in. But...I don't have a car, so if we're carpooling from the city centre, we'll have to figure something out. There's a possibility that I will rent a car and bring the family out for the event...but we'll see. Anyhow. Keep me posted!!!

I'm a great big quitter

I was up to 8 km...I was doing ok...then I got sick for 2 weeks, and a few aspects of my life fell into disrepair. I tried running this weekend, and I could barely do 4km. So I am not running.

Today I found out that my job won't be continuing after December, which, to be honest, was a relief. But I have no idea what I am going to be doing next, apart from collecting employment insurance for a little while. Hopefully the Concordia job will come through, but if it doesn't, there'll be some stuff that I am going to have to figure out and I don't imagine it will be an easy process.

All this to say, my plate is a little full.

But I am looking forward to celebrate your runs over dinner that night!
