This has been a terrific week in all aspects except running! Oh well, can't have it all.
I ran the Underwear Affair 10k race last Saturday (and clocked my best time, 55:41!). I was nursing bad blisters on the backs of my heels (from wearing cute shoes on Friday). The blisters (surprisingly) did not bother me at all during my race, only afterward when I saw the blood stained socks and shoes! Gross!
So I took a few days off to let my heels heal, and then got hit with a cold! I "coldFx-ed" it right away, and managed to stave off the worst of it. But all my energy was going into fighting the cold, I simply didn't have it in me to add a run to my routine.
I planned a nice run for this weekend, but am punishingly sore from a double-header match of tennis. I'm surprised because I thought with all my running I'm in decent shape, but clearly we use different muscles on the tennis court then we do when we run! Ouch!
I start my new job tomorrow and will re-adapt my running schedule to my new routine. I'm hoping (planning) that this new routine will include a few yoga classes each week (running and yoga go together like... well, cookies and milk!).
